ReligionBut strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33) Today's Mass readings | Today's meditationOur Lady of Guadalupe - Protectress of the Unborn
Unity in the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:1-16) But each of us was given grace according to the measure of Christ's gift. Therefore it is said,
(When it says, "He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is the same one who ascended far above all the heavens, so that he might fill all things.) The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ. We must no longer be children, tossed to and fro and blown about by every wind of doctrine, by people's trickery, by their craftiness in deceitful scheming. But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body's growth in building itself up in love. The Works of the Flesh (Galatians 5:1-16) The Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:17-26) Spiritual Gifts (1 Corinthians 12:1-11) Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are activated by one and the same the Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses. John Baptist de La Salle InfoAn evil thought defiles the soul when it is deliberate and consented to. Our Lord placed evil thoughts at the head of all crimes, because they are their principle and source. -St. John Baptist de la Salle
