Dennis Buenaventura Memorial ServiceKatribus, The special mass for Katribu Dennis Buenavantura was held last Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Central House chapel in La Salle Greenhills. Dennis' wife (Reggie), mother, siblings, family members, friends, DLSU classmates and Katribus were on hand to witness this uplifting occasion. Based on my list, the Katribus who were present were the following (please correct me in case I missed out on somebody): Alex Syfu, Buddy Mendoza, Joel Matsuda, Marti Salazar, Greg Banzon, Larry Marbella, Emil Alvarado, Bro. Dodo Fernandez, Sonny Laraya, Froilan Lomotan, Ed Unson, Bong De Ocampo, Jude Aguilar, JJ Atayde, Ricky Agana, Chito Genito, Poch Concepcion, Peewee Ticzon, Monet Munoz, Rico Ledesma, Chestor Flores and I. I am sure many more wanted to come but could not because of work and family priorities. Special thanks are in order. To Emil Alvarado and Greg Banzon for organizing, managing and conducting this whole affair. To Bro. Dodo Fernandez for his thoughts, prayers and participation in both the mass and the program. To Larry Marbella for taking the great pictures which he has sent out in a separate email. To Monet Munoz for orchestrating the Mass. To Poch Concepcion and Chito Genito for the eulogies they gave out in the program. To Marti Salazar for helping me coordinate this whole affair with the Buenaventura family. To Jay Jay Reyes for making the proper coordination needed for the the venue. The West Coast Katribus (headed by Larry Mangubat) in spearheading the materialization of this special mass. To Jack Alix and Mitch Gomez for their contributions. And to all the others, physically present or in spirit. 'Maraming salamat sa inyo'. Even the Buenavantura family send their heartfelt 'thank you's' for all the genuine love and concern given to Dennis and his family. You have otudone yourself Katribu...may the good Lord continue to bless you! I have attached the 'closing remarks' I gave out at the end of the program. I encourage the others to send out their eulogies as well for everyone to read. Let it be known and remembered, "Once a Brother...always a Brother"! God bless your soul Katribu Dennis...rest in peace. Jun B. Pictures from the Mass celebrationhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/quasar_63/sets/72157623348931403/show/ |
